If I need Lone Worker Training for my Staff what should I consider?
If I need Lone Worker Training for my Staff what should I consider?
The other night at a seminar I was asked “what things should I consider from a company which supplies Lone Worker Training for my staff?” Very good question as it opened a series of questions which could have ended us discussing all night, but time was against us and other people wanted to ask me questions as well in relation to Lone Working & Personal Safety. So as promised here is my answer on the blog as requested?
I have mentioned constantly you can get a training provider anywhere in the world, and we have a high degree of good trainers as I have worked with some which do know how to impart good knowledge and skills. However, in the subject of Lone Worker Training it is important to seek out three main facts about the training provider you decide to choose:
- Are they familiar with your sector and have they experience of understanding the clear risks faced?
- Are they fully insured to deliver the training and not just £126.00 (approx.) off their home insurance (very important)?
- Can they provide three references which clarifies they have delivered the skills previously and effectively?
Some organisations have in the past opted for cost over quality, and this for me, maybe more than some, I can understand the path due to the current financial situation, but what I would say is do not risk the cost over ticking a box as we all witness quite regular the risks Lone Workers face at times.
The subject around Lone Worker Training is gathering speed every week, but please do not follow the crowd and stand back, but sit up and think how best can I help my staff to prevent, deter and defuse the risks they may face when lone working.
So if you are thinking: If I need Lone Worker Training for my Staff what should I consider? then you need to think about calling us.
